By downloading, installing or using the Hiyd iOS app or the Hiyd Chrome extension, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use them.

The service

Hiyd helps you write Markdown content with YAML front matter for Jekyll sites, store it in your iCloud Drive, and optionally publish it to a GitHub repository you control. Writing, previewing and exporting happen on your device. Publishing sends the file you choose to GitHub on your behalf.

Acceptable use

You may use Hiyd to create content for personal or commercial projects. You may not use it to:

• break any applicable law, or infringe anyone’s rights;
• create or distribute unlawful, harmful or abusive content;
• attempt to reverse engineer, decompile or extract source code from the app, except where that restriction is prohibited by law.

GitHub publishing

If you configure GitHub publishing, you are responsible for the personal access token you provide and for what is committed to your repositories using it. Use a fine-grained token scoped to only the repositories you intend to publish to. Hiyd commits to the repository’s default branch at the folder path you set.

Purchases

Hiyd is free. The app offers an optional annual subscription and optional one-off tips through Apple’s In-App Purchase system. Subscriptions renew until cancelled; manage or cancel them in your Apple Account settings. Payments, refunds and renewals are handled by Apple under the Apple Media Services Terms.

Your content

You keep all rights to everything you create with Hiyd. We claim no licence over it and never receive a copy, except that publishing sends your chosen file directly to GitHub at your instruction.

Disclaimers and liability

Hiyd is provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind. Because your content is stored on your device and in your iCloud Drive, we cannot guarantee against data loss caused by device failure, iCloud issues or user error — keep your own backups. We strive for Jekyll compatibility but cannot guarantee it for every configuration.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability will not exceed the amount you paid us (if any) in the twelve months before the claim.

Termination

You may stop using Hiyd at any time by uninstalling it; your local content remains yours. We may suspend access for a serious or repeated breach of these Terms.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
