By downloading, installing, or using the Hiyd app (iOS) or Chrome extension, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you disagree with any part of these terms, you may not use our service.
Description of Service
Hiyd is a Jekyll companion app that helps you:
- Generate markdown content for Jekyll sites
- Create posts with proper front matter formatting
- Preview content before publishing
- Work with Jekyll-specific formatting tools
The service operates entirely on your local device with no server-side processing.
Acceptable Use
You may use Hyd for:
- ✅ Creating markdown content for personal or commercial Jekyll sites
- ✅ Generating front matter for blog posts and pages
- ✅ Educational and learning purposes
- ✅ Open source and commercial projects
You may not use Hiyd for:
- ❌ Any illegal or unauthorized purpose
- ❌ Creating harmful, abusive, or inappropriate content
- ❌ Violating any local, state, national, or international law
- ❌ Reverse engineering or attempting to extract source code
Intellectual Property
- Your Content: You retain all rights to content you create using Hiyd
- App Software: Hiyd and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by us and protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws
- Jekyll: Jekyll is an open-source project. Hiyd is not affiliated with or endorsed by Jekyll’s creators
Disclaimers
- No Warranty: Hiyd is provided “as is” without warranty of any kind
- Local Processing: Since all processing happens locally, we cannot guarantee data persistence if your device fails
- Compatibility: We strive for Jekyll compatibility but cannot guarantee compatibility with all Jekyll configurations
- Availability: As a local app, availability depends on your device functionality
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- We shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages
- Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the app (if any)
- We are not responsible for data loss due to device failure or user error
Privacy
Your privacy is important to us. Please review our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle your information (spoiler: we don’t collect any).
Updates and Changes
- App Updates: We may release updates to improve functionality
- Terms Updates: We may modify these terms at any time
- Notification: Material changes will be communicated through app updates or our website
Termination
- By You: You may stop using Hiyd at any time by uninstalling the app
- By Us: We may terminate access if you violate these terms
- Effect: Upon termination, your right to use Hiyd ends, but your locally stored content remains yours
